On the island of Fogo you will find one of the greatest vulcano sceneries on the earth. This island of fire looks like a triangle, someone cut part the top, grabbed a big hole and put into a new big volcano with a height of about 1400 meters.
The visit of Cha da Caldeiras, a stay with the people there and climbing the pico will be for sure one the highlights for any visitor coming to Cape Verde.
The crater is a higlight of the archipelago, its daram matched onyl by the mountains of St. Antao. Fogo is thus one of the principal hiking islands, but it is also fascinating for its natural history. Much of the islands's splendoour can be reached by vehicle. There are modes swimming but virtually no white beaches and no watersports. The capital is quiet.
